1953 Saturday 10th October-Born (which was helpful!)by the name of James. Midge is the second child of Bett and Jim. Born in a one bedroom flat in Cambuslang, Lanarkshire Glasgow -Scotland

1969-formed STUMBLE
1971-disbanded

1962-Midge At 10 years old he gets his first guitar

1974-formed SLIK

1977-september-disbanded and joined rich kids. Before being asked to join RICH KIDS was propositioned by MALCOLM MCLAREN who was the manager of the SEX PISTOLS midge apparently turned down membership for the sex pistols because it appeared strange that Malcolm did not ask him if he could play. Malcolm chose midge for his looks and presence (as many women have done no doubt!). Rich Kids did allegedly disbanded when Glen started drinking heavily.

1978-VISAGE formed

1979- MISFITS formed but disbanded the same year
THIN LIZZY-Midge joined the band in mid-July

1979.Helped the band out until early 1980.
Joins ULTRAVOX former TIGERLILY

1982-Midge leaves VISAGE. Has solo succsess with single NO REGRETS.

1984-BAND AID.Marries Annabel Giles

1985-resumed his solo career with 1985's The Gift, which reached number 2 on the UK album chart. The album spawned a number 1 single, 'If I Was'. Ure enjoyed further UK Top 30 chart success with 'That Certain Smile
